Can Quera is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been renovated, maintaining the original structure to offer accommodation.

It is located in the municipality of La Vajol and in the "Les Salines" Area of Natural Interest next to the Albera Park Natural.

It has magnificent views over the Alt Empordà district and is surrounded by 150 hectares of almost virgin forest.

Horse graze freely at the doors and there is also a kitchen garden where the vegetables and pulses of the area are grown.

La Vajol, with a population of 120, is the highest village in the Alt Empordà, 545 metres above sea level, on the frontier with France. It was from here, on the 5th of February 1939, Catalan President Lluís Companys, the Lendakari (Basque President) Aguirre, the minister Negrín and many other people crossed the Coll de Lli pass into exile.
